Recently, the Sexual Health Empowerment (SHE) Project has been coordinating very closely with the Center for Health (CHD) Caraga with regards to implementing a more comprehensive partnership approach to promoting and affecting adolescent friendly environment.

It has been found out that in many aspects, the SHE Project’s thrusts coincide with the regional direction of Deparment of Health (DOH). In fact, in many cases, the Project has already facilitated activities and demonstrated results with regard to adolescent health. The activity was conducted on September 12-13, 2022 at the Butuan Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City. It tackled how best the youth organizations can develop close functional partnerships with DOH and other agencies with the support of the SHE Project.

It was very inspiring and motivating to hear the journey and accomplishments of peer educators per municipality. Cagwait shared their “SHE and me”; Lianga with “Establish AHY facility the Lianga way”; Jabonga’s “Maximizing reach thru social media” and Santiago “Reaching the unreached”.

There were also a lot of good practices and organizational mechanisms that were developed. Serious attention were given as to how these will be institutionalized and sustained.

Thank you JPHIEGO thru Ms. Janica for the inputs on HEADSSS. It was such a big help! Also, to PSWD-ADN for the full support in this endeavor.

SHE project is looking forward for the full implementation of the Performance Accountability System (PAS) in addressing teen-pregnancy. We are excited for the performance audit after 90 days. Thank you Sir Bong Alcala for the technical assistance.

Labanan ang teen-pregnancy. Para maiwasan, kailangan pinag-uusapan!
