After 2 years, Oxfam was back to Caraga! We are happy to see you again Ms. Kaye and Ms. Rina of Oxfam in the Philippines (OiPH) and welcome Ms. Kimberly Quache – Program Officer and Manuel-MEL Officer from Oxfam Canada (OCA).

August 29 - Meeting with SIKAP SHE Team. Kamustahan on activities, progress, and ways of working. SIKAP’s journey with SHE project was full of ups but with bit of downs that made SIKAP build its core competence on sexual reproductive health and rights. Salamat Oxfam sa mga pagdayeg ug pagdasig labi na sa technical guidance to clarify our concerns.

August 30 – visit at Lianga, Surigao del Sur. Oxfam was welcomed by the Dr. Leo Alfonso Sarmen, the Municipal Health Officer together with his personnel. Gisaksihan ang pagpahigayon sa usapang puedi pa apil ang paghatag sa serbisyo sa mga gusto mo access sa family planning. The municipal AY Facility was visited (level 1 accredited) where active interaction between peer educators, health providers and Oxfam happened.

Happy to shout out the 6 barangay-based AY Facility established in Lianga spearheaded by the Sangguniang Kabataan. These are in Barangay of Payasan (level 1 accredited). Barangay Diatagon, Ban-as, Ganayon, Bacauwe, and San Pedro who are ready for the assessment by the Provincial Health Office of Surigao del Sur for the level 1 accreditation. The establishment of these facilities were through the joint efforts of the peer educators, SKs, Barangay LGUs, MYDO, RHU and the SHE Project. Kudos!
